Here's a link to our recent trip report. Sorry for the link, I can't figure out how to post multiple pics on this site.

Dave,
Great trip/post! That trimorph must of really fooled you for awhile. They fool me when they're marked like they're supposed to be! Thats a one of a kind for sure.
So how many Hueco alterna does that make for you now? 7? Are you producing any babies for sale yet? Let me know. BA
P.S. Have you EVER had a bad trip??? Seems like you and/or your significant other are always finding good snakes!!! Congrats

I HAVE been really lucky since I started taking Jane out to Texas. Before her I would still find stuff, but with alot more effort.

Between WC's I got from the El Paso Boys, the one I caught, and the Dan Johnson pair, I now have 5.4 Huecos (only 2 breedable females next year). Hopefully I'll have extra next year if you're interested. I've got to take care of the boys who helped me this year first..lol

They are a couple of guys that have helped me out many times. I remember one such occasion very similar to yours were the son held the dads legs as he hung over the side of the cliff which was about 25 feet high and captured my first alterna from 20 miles south of Alpine. I hunt with them as much as possible and owe alot of what I know to them. Its guys like them that make my trips to west Texas ones that I will never forget. I got a call the night they retrieved your snake and was told the story of the whole ordeal. They were almost as happy to retrieve that snake for you as they would have been to catch one themselves. I do wish you had some video of the catch though. Also the snake is a 10, huecos are one of my favorite alterna.

It was my first time meeting them, but I'll be a fan of theirs forever. They turned the misery and anguish of finally finding and then losing my first Hueco alterna into truimph and celebration. I believe we'd still be sitting out there now if not for those guys....lol.

I'm going to give them a pair out of my next clutch of Hueco alterna. I really hope I get the chance to also do something special for them someday to show my appreciation.

No Dougie not me thats really Jon. I do want to thank you for not rubbing it in like your gators did to my Vols last saturday. That was a drubbing. Congrats. Florida looked better than the team that massacered Ohio St. last January. Maybe they will duplicate the feat of their hoops team.
Still waiting on photos of your last Alpine snake you caught last month. I know with your busy UC schedule you have very little time but maybe you could throw me a bone some time??
Later,
BA

Jon's post is still a bit shocking, but I will try to believe it nonetheless.

Sorry people for getting off topic, but old BA brought this up.

You are welcome about not rubbing in the TN drubbing. Sometimes nothing needs to be said although I wish I could control my tongue as well as I seem to do my fingers. I will have to disagree w/ you on looking better than the national championship game against OSU. I saw what looked to me as a defensive line that is no where near what UF had last year. If all of the 9 new starters on defense can improve quickly each week, it could get interesting as it appears that Tebow is the real deal and it looks like the Gators will be able to score plenty. 59 points and accomplished w/out their best receiver, Andre Caldwell. Go Gators!

I will try to throw you a bone as you request by the end of the weekend. I don't yet have a photo of the snake in question.
