This is the male blairs I picked up from John Schmitt/Suncoast Herps, in Daytona last year. His orange is getting brighter and his gray has darkened just very slightly.

That is one smokin' snake! I was very happy with my 1.1 adult breeding pair of Mexican bairdi and the little female from that pairing this year from John, he has a great selection of animals and was very easy to do business with. I recommend him highly! Again, that was an exceptional buy!

You should call those kings "Trans Pecos Kings" or Brewster county Kings, or anything other than "Big Bend Kings". I know they are not from the National Park but that is kind of what the name implies unless you add the word Big Bend "Area" Kings. It occurs to me that this is exactly how certain authorities arrive at the false conclusion that x amount of snakes are being smuggled out of Big Bend. It's false because everyone who visits Terlingua, Study Butte, and River Road calls it "Big Bend".

I'm not picking on you by the way, I just think everyone should be aware of what that text implies to authorities.

WOW, she's a looker, for sure! I picked up a locality female from here from a kid wanting to sell it to the pet shop, I have them on speed dial, LOL! Not as pretty as the western splendidas, but a cool looking locale all the same.

Here's a couple of her, I have a few like her at various ages but she is typical of the locale. May be a true splendida with a varied look or a desert/speckled intergrade. There are no "classic" looking splendies or speckleds on this island, so it is a getula, lol! I suspect specks and deserts once occupied the same turf way back when but are now morphed into this. The milksnakes look like an intergrade as well between Mexican milks and Louisiana milks. I really love gray banded kings!

She's about 36", so she is an adult, but needs a lot of fattening before brumation. Most of these coastal splendies are small in length but a little girthy.
