Anyone know where to get hide boxes. I can't belive they're this hard to find
bottom of ceral boxes, cracker boxes etc. You can always find a good size, and no cleaning! If it gets soiled....eat more crackers!
If you want a hide for a display enclosure, you can put together flat rocks (slate from a garden centre works well) with silicone. Use the stuff that dries in 24 hours, but I always let it dry for a week, since it will be thick, and you don't want any risidual fumes. It looks like a nice natural cave, and its easy to turn into a humidity box during shed by adding some damp (not wet) moss.

I use medium cat litter boxes for the snakes that I move from my hatchling rack to my adult rack. It helps them go thru an easier transition and then about a year after that I take it out.

plastic bowls of any type (not clear), cat litter pans for larger snakes.......just walk through your local WalMart and you will find many options.
If you're looking for the pre-molded type.......not sure about that. You can ask FatBoy Ball Pythons......I have seen some of the pre-molded hide boxes in his photos.
This is his website.... http://www.fbballpythons.com/
that's what I did.....the dollar store had medium black bowls so I got some and cut a hole in the bottom..since then they haven't gotten more or I'd buy them all out all the time....they get white and light blue but no dark colors...
.....plastic anything will work......get frozen lasagna it comes in plastic pan,,,,bowls, cork bark,,,as you said.any store has alot of junk that would work.....I never bought "real" hides....

I get mine at thrift shops and goodwill stores, water bowls too. I've gotten really cool ceramic vases and a ton of other stuff from there $1-2 . use a bit of imagination possibly a hacksaw (with a tile cutting blade). keep an eye out for lamps, old aquariums even fake plants (i clean, disinfect and hot glue to the cage to make it look a little better). you can even attach the plants to the outside of the cage (in the back) to make cleaning easier. snakes like to feel closed in, and mine seem to me much more at ease when i have three sides of the tank covered in either posterboard or fake plants. makes them feel safe and less out in the open.
