Of just had a female lay 8 eggs on wednesday that looked like slugs that I candled today and none have veins.I am sure that none will make it.Has anyone here experienced a candled egg with not one vein that went full term and hatched?

Do you have pictures of the eggs? Slugs are usually really easy to ID of the bat. If they don't look like slugs, keep them incubated until they mold IMO. You just never know!

I candle everything that is not clearly a slug. If it doesn't have veins -- I toss it. It is weird how the slugs show up. My first 5 clutches this year averaged 7 eggs with not one slug. My sixth, from a 2200 gram female -- 5 slugs and 1 perfect looking egg that when candled had NO veins. I am breeding females from 1200 grams to 3500. I am keeping records on my female weights, clutch size, and slugs/infertile eggs for my own continuing education. I'll post my results when hte results are in. There is MUCH to learn. Good Luck!!!!

I have had some eggs that I wasn’t sure about ,so I say put them in and if they are slugs you’ll know in a few days .go in grapes and out raisins .LOL Thanks David

If they have pink to them..then keep them a while,and check for veins later on.

..but now if they look like these...then yeah..they are slugs
