I just got an adult female that came FedEx on Friday. She's pretty nervous and actually struck at the lid of her bin as I was closing it once. I realize that being in jostled around in a box for 24 hours cannot be fun and now she's getting used to new surroundings. I'm new to this, but I know that many of you have gotten several snakes shipped to you, so my question is this: Is it pretty typical for snakes to be nervous and aggressive for a while after shipping or do many of them remain docile despite the stress? Should I expect her to calm down or is she just a less personable animal than some? I realize that there's no way to no for sure until a little more time passes, but I'm intrested in hearing about the experiences of others. Thanks.

As you said the animal has been on a trip that was not the most pleasant. Now that you are allowing the new arrival to relax and become part of its new surroundings both of you deserve a week or two to acclimate. No hurry, just relax.

Have had both...some arrive aggressive and settle down nicely, others arrive aggressive and stay that way. They are all tempered different. Give him time and see how he is.
