has any one ever tried this on balls? It is usually used for mammals but I have used it with success to increase appetite in a sulcata tortoise. It worked within a few days of administering it. It is given orally and sorta jump starts the digestion system. I am working with a friends ball that hasn't eaten in almost a year. It also had uri when she brought it to me. I have been treating that for tha last couple weeks and the snake now seems health but without any interest in food of any kind. I will be trying all the usual tricks for feeding but since this worked for my tort I was curious if anyone else has tried it?
Let me add that this was used with a vets recommendation on the tort.

I have had lots of luck using it on my daughter.... she was a "slow-starter" as well....

I really don't see why it wouldn't work on a reptile- it worked on a tort... why not a snake...

Thanks for the response. It seems you and I have a bit in common. would love to swap rescue stories and ideas with you. I spend alot of time doing repair work on reptiles. Almost all my rescues are pets with owners gone bad.
I am experimenting on that ball with the metaclopromide . I dosed him once, waited 24 hours, then force fed it a small fuzzie along with another small dose of syrup. 48 hours later the snake seems to be digesting normally, no regurge, and is now starting to show signs of going into shed. I am excited to see if it'll show some interest in food after the shed. Poor snake is only about a year and a half old but hasn't eatten in almost a year of that. That is why I choose to force feed a small meal in hopes that with the syrup things might start running again. I don't recommend forcing except in extreme cases.
