Hello all, I am new here. I have a young Spider male who I am trying to get to breed with my larger female. He is just under 800g and she is 1700, give or take. I put the female in with the male and he immediately started to wag his tail, at times quite fast.I dont mean the rattling some snakes do. This was a fast side to side wagging. It unerved me a bit as I thought he was either frightened or that a fight was about to start. I have separated them . Any clues? Is this normal?

sometimes the male or female will do some tail wagging while scenting the enclosure. I have some females that wag at my males while they musk. the male is usually not far behind.

Thank you for that Rapsdad. It is the little male who is doing the wagging. His tail wags from side to side really fast and yes he does seem to be scenting. Would this sound right for a male then? The female just did a bit of gentle 'swooshing' at first but this did not last long. The pair did not end up mating I dont think.

Yeah but i dddnt see my female realy hook up with my mojave. now she has ovulated and is due to drop in about three weeks.
