Iguana Forum Photo Contest - December 2003

Approximate time frame for this contest is 2 weeks:

Submit your entries: November 28 - December 4
Member Voting: December 4 - 7
Staff voting: December 8 & 9
Winner Announced: December 10

Before entering your photo in the contest, please read the rules at the top of the Contest Forum page.

If you are not familiar with how to upload photos to the forums, please PRACTICE first in the Testing Forum Tools & Toys area.

PHOTO SUBMISSIONS (how to):

To submit an entry:

From this designated contest post, click on 'Reply To This Message.'

In the 'subject' line, please type the title of your photo entry.

In the message box, feel free to give any details about your photo if you desire (pet's name/common name, species/genus, etc.).

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen to where is says 'Select Image from Photo Gallery.' Open that menu up and select the image you wish to submit (it helps if you remember what file name your image was uploaded as).

Once you are finished entering all information, click 'post message'.

REMEMBER:

If more than one photo is included in your contest submission, only the first photo will be eligible (multiple entries by a user will be removed).

Photo submission is open to everyone until the posting of the "Contest Closed" message. Any photos entered after that message will not be eligible.

Once the Contest is closed, voting by members on the entries that will go into the finalist round will start.

Good Luck!

*Note* Conversation posts within a designated 'contest' thread will be removed while the contest is in progress. This is to help keep the contest neat and organized while it is in progress. If you wish to engage someone in conversation about their photo, please do so outside of the contest thread (preferably on another forum) or wait until after the contest is completed and the winner announced. Thank you.

This is my 5 year old adopted male ig, in the heat of his breeding season. He's standing atop a 27" TV box, so you can get an idea of his size....

This is Miss Mozilla. She came into my life as an emaciated wreck of a rescue. After months of intensive care, she became a fat and sassy iguana. She is now a beloved pet and an educational iguana for our rescue.

The schedule has been revised due to some unforseen delays.

The contest is now closed to any further photo entries.

Voting will now begin.

VOTING PROCEDURES

Members will have 3 days to vote on their favorite photos. You may vote for as many entries as you want, but you can only vote for the same photo ONCE.

Individuals caught cheating and 'stuffing' the ballots will not be tolerated, will have their posts removed, and may have their posting privileges revoked.

To vote, simply go to the photo entry you want to vote for and post a 'vote' reply message to that particular entry.

Voting is open to everyone until the posting of the "Voting Now Closed" message. Any votes made after the posting of the message will not be eligible.

WINNER SELECTION

After tallying the member votes, the top 5 photos entries (i.e. the finalists) will have their photos voted on during a 2 day period by PetHobbyist staff. In the event that there are ties among some of the finalist selections, those additional photos will be also be entered into the final round of voting by PH staff.

Once a winner has been selected, the winning photo will be showcased on the Iguana forum until the next contest is held (approx. 1-3 months).

It is important for the winner of the contest to keep their winning photo stored on the PetHobbyist photo gallery during this period as the photo shown on the forum page is linked directly to it. If you delete your photo from the photo gallery, it will no longer appear on the forum index page.

*Note* Please remember, conversation posts within a designated 'contest' thread will be removed. If you wish to engage someone in conversation, please do so outside of the contest thread or on another forum. Thank you.
