Treefrog Forum Photo Contest - December 2003

Approximate time frame for this contest is 2 weeks:

Submit your entries: December 12 - 18
Member Voting: December 19 - 21
Staff voting: December 22 & 23
Winner Announced: December 24

Before entering your photo in the contest, please read the rules at the top of the Contest Forum page.

If you are not familiar with how to upload photos to the forums, please PRACTICE first in the Testing Forum Tools & Toys area.

PHOTO SUBMISSIONS (how to):

To submit an entry:

From this designated contest post, click on 'Reply To This Message.'

In the 'subject' line, please type the title of your photo entry.

In the message box, feel free to give any details about your photo if you desire (pet's name/common name, species/genus, etc.).

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen to where is says 'Select Image from Photo Gallery.' Open that menu up and select the image you wish to submit (it helps if you remember what file name your image was uploaded as).

Once you are finished entering all information, click 'post message'.

REMEMBER:

If more than one photo is included in your contest submission, only the first photo will be eligible (multiple entries by a user will be removed).

Photo submission is open to everyone until the posting of the "Contest Closed" message. Any photos entered after that message will not be eligible.

Once the Contest is closed, voting by members on the entries that will go into the finalist round will start.

Good Luck!

*Note* Conversation posts within a designated 'contest' thread will be removed while the contest is in progress. This is to help keep the contest neat and organized while it is in progress. If you wish to engage someone in conversation about their photo, please do so outside of the contest thread (preferably on another forum) or wait until after the contest is completed and the winner announced. Thank you.

Splendid Leaf Frog also know as the Barred-Leaf Frog (agalychnis calcarifer)Photo Location:Costa Rica. A very close relative to the famous red-eye tree frog(agalychnis calidryas)This species is found mostly in Central America and Northern parts of South America this is a rare hard to find frog in the wild for it lives high in the canopy only coming down to breed and ocasionally to hunt. although this particular specimen isn't that vibrant in color the adults display magnificent intense coloration.

The contest is now closed to any further photo entries.

Voting will now begin.

VOTING PROCEDURES

Members will have 3 days to vote on their favorite photos. Each member may only vote for one photo - you cannot vote on multiple photos.

Individuals caught cheating and 'stuffing' the ballots will not be tolerated, will have their posts removed, and may have their posting privileges revoked.

To vote, simply go to the photo entry you want to vote for and post a 'vote' reply message to that particular entry.

Voting is open to everyone until the posting of the "Voting Now Closed" message. Any votes made after the posting of the message will not be eligible.

WINNER SELECTION

After tallying the member votes, the top 5 photos entries (i.e. the finalists) will have their photos voted on during a 2 day period by PetHobbyist staff. In the event that there are ties among some of the finalist selections, those additional photos will be also be entered into the final round of voting by PH staff.

Once a winner has been selected, the winning photo will be showcased on the Arrowfrog forum until the next contest is held.

It is important for the winner of the contest to keep their winning photo stored on the PetHobbyist photo gallery during this period as the photo shown on the forum page is linked directly to it. If you delete your photo from the photo gallery, it will no longer appear on the forum index page.

*Note* Conversation posts within a designated 'contest' thread will be removed. If you wish to engage someone in conversation, please do so outside of the contest thread (preferably on another forum such as the Open Discussion Forum). Thank you.
