Chameleon Forum Photo Contest - March 2004

Approximate time frame for this contest is 2 weeks:

Submit your entries: March 17 - 24
Member voting to select finalists: March 25 - 28
Staff voting to select winner: March 29 & 30
Winner Announced: March 31

The Winner gets: their photo showcased on the Chameleon Forum until such a time as the winner of the photo choses to remove that photo from the photo gallery or a new contest for the forum is held - which ever comes first.

Before entering your photo in the contest, PLEASE take the time to carefully read the rules at the top of the Contest Forum page. Folks unable to follow the entry procedure properly may find their entry disqualified from the contest!

If you are NOT familiar with how to upload photos to the forums, please PRACTICE first in the Testing Forum Tools & Toys area.

PHOTO SUBMISSIONS (how to):

To submit an entry:

From the designated contest thread, click on 'Reply To This Message.'

In the 'subject' line, please type the title of your photo entry.

In the message box, feel free to give any details about your photo if you desire (pet's name/common name, species/genus, etc.).

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen to where is says 'Select Image from Photo Gallery.' Open that menu up and select the image you wish to submit (it helps if you remember what file name your image was uploaded as).

If you are already familiar on how to use the [ img ] tags to post photos from the photo gallery you may feel free to do it that way instead.

Once you are finished entering all information, click 'post message'.

REMEMBER:

If more than one photo is included in your contest submission, only the first photo will be eligible (multiple entries by a user will be removed).

Photo submission is open to everyone until the posting of the "Contest Closed" message. Any photos entered after that message will not be eligible.

Once the Contest is closed, a message will be posted informing members that voting by them will begin. The top photos with the most votes will go into the finalist round. The ultimate winner of the photo contest will be chosen based on a voting by the Pet Hobbyist staff.

Good Luck!

*Note* Conversation posts within a designated 'contest' thread will be removed while that contest is in progress. This is to help keep the contest neat and organized while it is in progress. If you wish to engage someone in conversation about their photo, please do so outside of the contest thread (preferably on the leopard gecko forum) or wait until after the contest is completed and the winner announced. Thank you.

First time posting to this forum but thought I'd post this beauty, a male Four Horned Chameleon (Chameleo trioceros quadricornis). Stauros is slightly banged up from his days in the wild or from the importation process, but nevertheless still maintains the majesty displayed by males of this species. Wish they were bred in captivity more...

Chameleon Forum Photo Contest - March 2004

Approximate time frame for this contest is 2 weeks:

Submit your entries: March 17 - 24 (completed)
Member voting to select finalists: March 25 - 28
Staff voting to select winner: March 29 & 30
Winner Announced: March 31

The contest is now closed to any further photo entries.

Voting by the members will now begin.

VOTING PROCEDURES

Pay very close attention!

Members will have 4 days to vote on their favorite THREE photos.

If you vote for more than 3 photos or if you vote multiple times for the same photo you will disqualify all of your votes.

To vote, simply go to the photo you want to vote for and post a 'vote' reply message to that particular entry. Make sure you when you post your vote that you are posting it to the correct photo you want to vote for!

Anyone caught cheating and 'stuffing' the ballots will not be tolerated and will have their posts removed.

Voting is open to everyone until the posting of the "Voting Closed" message. Any votes made after the time stamp of that message will not be eligible.

WINNER SELECTION

After tallying the member votes, the top 5 entries (the finalists) will have their photos voted on during a 2 day period by PetHobbyist staff. In the event that there are ties among the voting for some of the finalist selections, those additional photos will be also be entered into the final round of voting by PH staff.

Once a winner has been selected, the winning photo will be showcased on the Chameleon Forum until such a time as the winner of the photo choses to remove that photo from the photo gallery or a new contest for the forum is held - which ever comes first.

It is important for the winner of the contest to know that if you delete your winning photo from the photo gallery, it will no longer appear on the forum index page where it is being showcased.

Thank you.
