What is the current value of a '02 female albino ball and also a '01 100% het for alibino pair?

I realize there are a considerable number of factor which come into play. I'm looking for a ball park price of worth for healthy, top quality animals.

Assuming you have a high degree of certainty as to the genetic status of the hets, I'd put the value of the '01 het pair at around $1500, as long as the female is plenty big enough to produce for next year (female 1200 grams and over). A great deal for a prospective breeder to get in the albino game a bit earlier than he/she might otherwise.

An '02 female albino is easily worth $3000 if she's a good feeder and has good weight (approaching 1000 grams). I wouldn't pay more than 3K for the albino female, but I wouldn't sell her for less than $2500 this year under any circumstances.

Whoever has them would be crazy to sell the het pair for $1500, as they are 2001, so unless they were being kept by monkeys, they should be of breeding size and weight. 6 eggs out of them this year would be 2 albinos and a bunch of possibles. Excluding the possibles, that's $5,000 in offspring. No way in he!! would I ever sell that het pair for $1500. Unless they were not totally for sure hets (how would you sell them anyways. Your name would be MUD if they turned to be normal) or unless I was not confident in my breeding abilities, I could make a LOT more than $1500 by just keeping them.

An '02 female albino is worth more than an '03, which is worth more than an '04. If whoever had the '02 albino was on his/her game, then that thing should EASILY be 1500g, in which case is SHOULD breed this year or next. I would value that snake at $4,000 cash, or $5,000 trade value.

I sold my only proven het albino girl last summer for $1,500 to finance a project I was hoping would be more profitable. Time will tell but hopefully it will work out well for me eventually.

Good points, but it's a lot harder for the little guy to find the prospective buyers. I actually sold an '01 PROVEN male albino and two '01 het females (problem feeders) for $4000. It was to a wholesaler who had to resell them for a profit - one of the reasons why it was so low. However, there were 3 or 4 individuals interested who just backed out at the last minute. I think they were concerned as to the het status of the female- even though they were purchased directly from The Snake Keeper and the Sutherlands could verify that I purchased such animals from them (what more did they want?).

It sucks, but the unknown breeder has a different price structure than the big guys. That's just the way it IS.

Also, knowing what I know now, I'll NEVER produce hets of a simple recessive morph again.... they're just too hard for the little guy to move.
