Last night my BP ate his first F/T meal. (I was so proud). I noticed that he had shed and was looking fabulous (Again...proud daddy here). He ate, about 11:30 last night, but remained active. I finally quit watching him about midnight and went to sleep.
THis morning, I noticed that he was curled up on the cool side of his home between the water bowl and the grapevine "log".
After eating, don't they normally seek the warm side for digestion?

Ball ate, but not acting normal?

It all depends. Out of all the snakes I have had, balls seem to be the least consistent. Sometimes they will go to the warm side, other times they wont. My only current ball pretty much is all over the place after he eats and sometimes ends up on the cool side.

Some snakes just like the cooler sides. I had a Boa that stayed on the cool side most of the time eventhough my "Warm side" temps where right. MY currnet snake, a Ball, seems to like the her cool hide better than her warm side also. The important thing is that they have OPTIONS in terms of heart and cooling.
Let the snake decide what it wants. Snakes are like any other living thing they all have different comfort levels. The books will make you think every snake likes the same thing.
