Female Pastel bred under the age of two! More info inside...

Oz Jul 01, 2004 03:54 PM

I got a group of female pastels from the Snake Keeper last February. This is one of the females... she will turn two next week on July 7th. I started breeding her at 17 months of age (she weighed 1850 grams), she ovulated at 22 months, and laid 5 big healthy eggs today... 6 days before she turns two! If I didn't think she would tag me I would kiss her right on the lips!

She was bred by a graziani male! If I get a Super I will sh*t my pants!

eggs:

Thanks for looking and I hope you guys are encouraged by this info.

First let me say congrats to OZ!

I am putting the cart before the horse, but I have a female bell line pastel that is just about 1 year old. I fully expect her to be of breeding size by fall. She is an eating machine, and after starting her off slow, doesn't refuse a meal. Eats every 3 days. She is currently pushing 900 grams, and I expect she will put on another 600 in the next few months now that I am feeding her a bit quicker between intervals.

Just my 2 cents, perhaps I have jinxed myself, but hope not (knock on wood).

Regardless of weight, some will reproduce at 2, and others wont.

Good luck
