ok here's the question. Is it too late to get into the ball python morph bananza starting with het albino's now? I've been dinking around with strange looking retics for the last 7 yrs with nothing i've worked with to be proven out bad luck i guess. I see many new and different looking morphs comming every year with ball pythons and am thinking of getting into the game. I however don't have the mega bucks to get into the platty's, clowns, spiders, ect. If I were to purchase several 66% pos femals and a couple def het males what would be the likely hood of me at least breaking even in a couple yrs. Are the prices of albino's farely stable or are there finally so many out there that prices are going to be steadily falling year after year. Will the albinos ever drop to below $750 is basically what I'm asking. I know the clutch size is nothing like that of retics and burms but with every breeder having several breeding albino's there has to be tons of them out there by now. Thank you in advance for any info or advice you can give me.

No, it's not too late to start breeding BPs. Will you get rich? Highly unlikely. Will it pay for your hobby? If you're lucky. So far, I haven't been.

Hard to say. If you got real lucky, you would do great. If unlucky...

Hard to say. Many are starting to focus on other projects changing focus from albinos to something else. This next season, I will be attempting hypo, pied and axanthic projects. Females that might normally go to my albino projects are going to be shifted to those. Who knows what prices will be? 3-4 years ago, albinos were selling for $4500. Today, I see them for $2500. These are averages for the "I bought one for $10" group.

If it was too late, then how would the CURRENT producers of albino and het albino Balls be selling them? I'm pretty sure that they are selling them on the assumption that they are investment animals and not pets (I mean, $2K for a PET snake??). So if its too late for albino Balls, then how are the breeders going to sell albinos in the here and now?
Its never too late. No, you won't sell them for $10,000 each like the old days, but a pair of 100% hets won't cost you $3,000 either. The monies are smaller, but the ratio/percentage of return is the SAME (actually, higher).
