Me again, sorry. I got my 4' street rescued BP home from the vet two weeks ago and I let him "settle in". He took a fk small rat right quickly. I was so happy. I waited and waited and...over a week later I'm thinking is this snake ever going to poop so I can take the fecal to the vet for parasite testing? I never found any poop, however, there was a large (6" across) wet area on the paper towels, no odor, a little discoloration...couldn't really say it was poo, no solids at all...nada. He's in a small cage with heat pad (cool end, warm end..two hides, I know), water bowl, and hides until the 48" cage arrives.

My questions are: would this be a form of the runs...or...has he not gone yet? And if he hasn't gone..do BPs ever just ingest it all and not pass anything after a long starve? I don't know how long he ran wild. Some of you may remember me and Monty, those that don't: my squad rescued him, he spent 2 weeks in the incubator at the vets, they fought off 3 bad infections with antibiotics, and he had surgury to close a cut on his belly.

You should feed it again...more food will push the fecal matter out of the snake...if not...it may take a while for it to go.

Don't know if it is liquid output or if he just slithered in water or what. I wouldn't sweat it if he is acting ok. I also wouldn't hold my breath waiting for poop. If he is catching up his appetite it could be weeks.

That python needs to put on some pounds and will have a high (70%) mass absorption rate. I wouldn't worry about poop any time soon.

I'm awaiting an order of frozen rats, so as soon as they get here (it got backlogged a danged week) ..tomorrow hopefully..I'll give him two small rats and then refeed 2 more in a week, I guess? I worry about over feeding him and him regurgitating. Thanks!

Yay! I just got him to take two 5 inch FT rats with no problems. I can see this boy is gonna be a big eater. *G*
