Is there any definite cut off point for a veiled carrying eggs before something might be wrong? I have been calling home every day since i got here (my parents love that...) checking up on aurora, but she still hasnt laid yet.
Theoretically she was "mated" on july 30th if anything did happen. I noticed she was pudgy when I got home from vacation which was the 11th of august. I dunno just curious if the gestation period can take alot longer than usual? Well with Luna at least I know lele had the long wait. *shrug* I dunno!
Im heading home for the long weekend so hopefully she does something then / before then.

Also I dont know if this is somthing to worry about, but she never seems to move far from her basking branch except to her feeding cup when we put crickets in it, and usually not till we leave the room. Could she be too cold maybe? This is a new-ish cage for her by the way, its sitting next to my male's cage (with a barrier/block between them so thay cant see each other) Could that be stressing her out too much to go about laying? I think I might try the trashcan/laying tub thing if she hasnt laid by this weekend and see if anyhting happens.

I was wondering how things were going. Yes, from my experience (as you well know) if she wasn't mated it could take 5 months (just what you wanted to hear ) If she was mated and they are fertile I would think there might be some concern but I certainly can't say. July 30th was JUST 4 weeks ago so she isn;t really "late"

As for not moving, Luna would get to a spot and stay there for hours - she did a lot of basking, too. It was when she began to get really restless and climb the walls (literally) and go to parts of the cage she'd never been was the cue. This last time I found her on the floor of the cage or on the plant soil when I first checked on her in the morning. i think as long as she is staying higher up she is not ready. Just keep that tub in there and remind her every now and again where it is.

Thanks, ill be sure to watch for the signs. As of now I am going for Zoology, but not sure if I want to use that as a pre-vet or not.
Id like to just go into care and maintenance if I could, whether as a vet tech or working in a Zoo. Im starting to lean more towards herps though (go figure)

Taking Calc 1, genetics and chem1 plus a chem lab. Gonna be a great semester!

Yes sometimes gestation can be longer but don't wait too long before you take her to the vet for a check-up.
