Winters in Michigan are pretty dry and it's hard to manage humidity and heat in a 48-24-24 cage. Spot lights make the cage more dry and don't heat bottom half of the cage. Does anybody know anything about radiant heat panels? Maybe, this is my answer.

A heat panel would dry out the cage as much or more than a basking spot. It would also heat a larger portion of the cage than you probably want...they are pretty large, and may get much hotter than your cham needs. Get an ultrasonic room humidifier and use a multi-setting lamp timer to control fogging cycles. That will really help keep your cage humidity up.
