handling should be kept to a minimun. some chams will tolerate it better that others. i only handle mine once or twice a week, usually while cleaning the cage.

what cham do you think is the best starter species?

Veiled and panther chams (cb, not wc) are usually good beginner chams. The panther will probably be more expensive, but either way don't settle for a tiny baby. Try to get about a 4 month old instead. Much easier to feed and acclimate.

Ive had my panther over 6 months now, and I have only handled him once. I think he would tolerate it, but I dont like to stress him. He seemed really stressful as a youngster, but he is becaoming very tame. I do take him out with a long stick and let him climb around, but i keep the touching to a minimum.
