I just built a very big and very cheap cage. I built it out of pvc and garden fencing. It only cost me 20 bucks. Its 5'X2.5'X2.5'. It also only took me about 1 hour to complete. All i used was garden fencing, pvc piping, and zip ties. I still need to get more plants so i can make it nice and dense. I have a hanging basket of pothos from the top and a very large umbrella tree. Any other ideas for large plants that are like house plants or something.

Ill try to get a pic up as soon as possible but that probably wont be to soon. Since this cage is so big compared to my female (shes around 10 inches now) could i put another female in there. Im trying to make it as most dense i can make it. I cant seem to find a really tall plant to put in there yet. I also cant find any decent sized branches to put in there. Any ideas?

Hmm Im basically a noob myself but I think when chams are little they can tolerate another cham (id think they should be the same size/age) But maybe some one more knowledgeable can answer that. You could always just try a bunch of small diameter dowels or perhaps if you can small diameter bamboo pieces. You can put some hibiscus in there... it will grow big. And ficus will grow big and dense also. Hibiscus will add color when it blooms .you may also want to rig a auto misting system too . Pvc pipe / sprinkler valve / sprinkler timer / misting nozzles and the adapters. You could rig it to connect a a outside faucet. Maybe add a water filter between the sprinkler valve and misting nozzles.

Just a side-note: mealybugs love hibiscus. I don't know where they come from, but they can be hard to get rid of. They are fuzzy-looking white things that leave a sticky residue (sugar water) on your plants leaves. I used to work in a greenhouse, so obviously there it was hard to get rid of all the pests. In the home it may not be a problem.

Also they are a tropical plant, so they like a lot of sunlight.

In the greenhouse we had two main colors. The ones with the red flowers grew like a bush, while the ones with pink flowers grow into a tree.

They have gorgeous, big, showy flowers!

Maybe you could find some sort of bamboo that has a thin diameter keep it potted so it doesnt spread. There are types that will grow in clumps. Also if ya can try some dead or deleafed grape vines (just thought of that lol) I can get those from my nieghbor since she has an arbor.
