hello
I am planning on building a big cage for like 2-3 chams they will be separated. but it will be outside all the time.
it get sun and rain too but no alot is that ok?
the chams will be okay outside?

Where are you at? You need to read up on the types of chams you have to see the tmep range they will tolerate. As for rain I wouldnt let any natural rain fall on them as rain does contain impurities and if not pollutants. Just to be on the safe side that is.

i am from puerto rico. my temps are 85-90 day 75-80 night.

As for letting the chameleons get rained on...that is perfectly fine in most cases. I have my chameleons out all summer long day and night and they go through thunderstorms, sunshine, heat and cold within reason, etc. They are on automatic misters which go off for about 15 minutes many times a day. I recommend putting the chameleon on some type of automatic misters if you plan to house them outside for any real length of time, as this will help keep their considerable hydration requirements met, and protect them from over-heating in some cases. The natural sunshine is wonderful for your chameleons and with the auto misters it places much less demand on the keeper as far as maintenance goes, and also does a lot to keep health problems from forming. Doing some more research will probably be necessary before you do it as I don't know the area you live in or the species you are suggesting for outdoor maintenance. Others on this forum keep chameleons outdoors so you maybe some of them will add their input as well--its a great idea for the long-term health of your animals.

Sounds like your climate will work nicely for both species temperature wise. As I said some sort of automatic misters will be necessary, especially on the high end of those temperature ranges. I have had my chameleons outside in temps. around 90F during the day down to about 40F on some colder nights. They do just fine either way. Doesn't sound like you'll have to worry about them getting too cold where you live. Good luck.

I don't know what the procedure is for ordering from puerto rico but you can check these out at least. I got mine from another friend in California who just bought it at their local hardware store and shipped it to me. They are used on a timer hooked up most often to the hose line with a "y" and are used to cool off decks with their fine mist, and possibly plants as well. Anyway, here are a few links, and a search should bring up some results too.

Depending on your budget thee are two ways of going. You can buy a ready to use mister like the Mr. moisture or my favorite the Rainmaker Jr. these come with everythign you ned it's just a matter of setting it up and making sure there is always water in the bucket so you don't burn the pump up. The other way to go is putting a mister together yourself. It's a fairly easy task and i just happen to havea link for this project.

there is no problem with the rain?

I don't see a problem with leaving them out in the rain as long as it isn't a freezing rain. The more time they are outside the healthy and hardier they will be. As it is inside you will have to supply artifical sunlight for the chameleon. keeping them outside is another way to cut the cost of keeping them. But as kevin has stated already, being outside they will need frequent watering/misting and they should be in a spot that isn't in full sun all day. Also in the event of any extreme weather, heat, cold, wind or rain you should move the chameleon out of the elements until it becomes more suitable. It's really just common sense.
