Can you house two females together in a large enough cage? i heard that if you give them enough room to get away from each other and two basking spots theyd be fine? The cage is 5'X2.5'X2.5'. Its also full of plant life. Does anybody have any experience with housing two chameleons together?

Even though it's the politically wrong thing to say, yes, it can be done. Raising females from babies to maturity usually works out ok in larger cages, as well as raising unrelated pairs from a young age up together. I currently have female veileds housed together, female panthers housed together and a pair of veileds housed together, each without complications. On the other end, I have had some that I thought were ok, and turned out not to be with either bite marks on one of them, or I physically saw agressive behavior and separated them. No matter how you do it, you should have a back up cage ready to go either way..... But if you have a backup cage ready to go, you might as well use it and cage them separately.

I housed 2 female panthers together for several months until I was able to get the other cage built. One of the females was 6 months when I got her and the other was 3. They did perfectly fine together.

My only problem I see with this is you cant monitor how much food each one is eating.

Sometimes two will get along, but your cage isn't big enough IMO. You would have to be ready to separate them if one is gravid or having any health issues, so you'll need a second setup ready to go anyway.
