We lost power for a little over 24 hours, but it's back on now. Did get royally hot without the AC. I've left Bender's cage up...sometimes I forget he's gone and go to look in on him. One happier note, I've been enjoying raising an orphaned baby squirrel from the last hurricane. Didn't have his eyes open when I got him...they're open now and he's doing wonderful. I swear he's growing while I'm looking at him. He loves pockets and his formula.

Glad you didnt get hit too hard! And good luck to you and the new baby. Baby squirrels are so fun to raise. we might have spoiled out last one a bit possibly, he would only eat one kind of cheese curl, it it wasn't Seyfors then it wasnt worth nibbling on lol.
Yeah spoiled animals seem to run in our family :-D

Lucky ya'll are done with this mess...we're still without power, and sweating our you know whats off. I just had to take a bath in the lake because we haven't been able to...walking buckets of water to the horses, bringing buckets of water up from the lake to flush...can't wash hands, anything...ugh. I did get a generator for the cham room, so hopefully we can keep that going with enough gas...that's a nightmare too.

On the squirrel front, that's great that you're raising him/her! I took 3 total so far...all without eyes open, two different trips to the rehab sanctuary.

I had a squirrel that I rescued years ago for about 13 years...so if you keep it, know you're in it for the long haul. I had no idea they could live that long...he would have lived longer, but he developed some strange abcess in his mouth and died after we tried surgery on him to remove it. Poor guy...anyway, I got him when he was a pink looking little maggot...vet said he was too little to live, but I tried and he did. He rode around in my pocket and went to high school basketball games with me...hahaha.

Awwwww heheh That's so cute! The squirrel part. Sorry to hear about your power We were without it for about a week from the last one. Got lucky this time. The little squirrel is a male. Not sure if I'll keep him as a pet or let him loose. I have a nice squirrel safe yard, there's about 4 that live there now. I put out peanut butter on the porch during the storm (I have a bunch of running boards for them to play on), they were all chillin out in there. Keeping dry and getting fat. lol They're so adorable.
