Hey all i was reading the updates on how everyone survived the hurricane!! glad to see most of you are okay even though you dont have power... Well first i work at the ocala hilton which was pretty much a storm shelter these past few days and it wasnt that fun for any of us to be the only ones in ocala going to work durring this hurricane, and the serving people who didnt appreciate what we were doing for them...
At the time my girl friend was at Shands hospital in Gainesville, She got transfered there from ocala regional on friday before it got bad.. so Saturday night when it got real bad i drove back to the Hilton just to call her (didnt have power or home phone- no cell signal) and she said she was recieving her epidural!! She's only 7.5 months!!!
Everyone thought i was nuts when i told the i was going to drive to gainesville ( 45 miles away... The whole hour it took me to get up there on the highway, i didnt see one car!!
So our baby "Demetri" was born durring hurricane Frances and he made me drive though it... (My car got blown into the gaurdrail twice! and i hit a billboard sing lying in the high way) He only wieghed 3Pound 4 ounces And is in the NICU (newborn intensive care unit) but he is doing great!!! And if i had to drive threw another hurricane to be there for his birth i would do it all over agian!
As far as property damage my car is scrapped up bad from the trip up to the hospital. a slash pine fell on my screen room. No more mailbox, no more outdoor enclosure for my chameleon. power just came back on!
When the power was off i just took one of the ficus in my 2x2x4 and placed it in the room to were light was shinning threw the window. My cham was facinated by the wind! lol he was looking like he wanted out there, lol NO

I'm very happy he's not named charlie or frances
