Hi,

I stumbled on a neat gadget recently. It is a hollow resin rock you can load with dust and/or gutload. Crix find their way in and out through a hole in the side. It helps keep them fed and dusted when they are free ranging the cage, keeps the gutload from getting soaked. So far it seems to work OK. I don't remember which site I got it from, but first saw it on Reptile Depot's site. I put it at the base of my potted plants so crix tend to climb around in the plant.

I found this at my local "pet store" when I had my brevi's but I didn't give it a try. What herps are you using it for? If I get day geckoes (thinking about the small gold dust) it might be a good environment to try. Interested in your experience as time goes by.

Right now I'm using it in a terrestrial frog tank. Makes a nice change from trying to place cut down plastic bottles somewhere they don't get misted or fogged and mold! So far I think the crix roam at night still when the frog is likely to catch them.
