My BD has very pretty violet side bars (banding) when he's fired up. I've recently seen pics that look (and are being advertised) as blue. Are they truely blue? Only look blue when fired up? Does anyone know if there is actually any blue pigment in dragons to work on strengthening those colors or enhancing them?

I have seen a variety of 'blues' in Beardies and some almost completely blue. I don't know if that's just the way we describe and market it as being a separate 'blue' gene. Most likely, it's just a combination of colors that look like blue to use. My female has specks of 'blue/violet' where her orange and tanish overlap.
