I was hoping to get some input on this. She is eating fine, drinking fine, it has not changed in size. I think it could be an ant bite (we had an invasion during the rainy season) and took care of it immediately,but she could have had a bite there. I am not being Chintzy...if she needs a vet I will take her, but if this is a simple healing injury....she has had this for over a month. Do chameleons heal slowly?

If you aren't absolutely certain an ant bite caused it, it's been that big ever since the "bite", or it has grown, I would get it checked. Abscesses in chams are not soft and mushy as the material inside is more like cheese rather than liquid. It may not seem to cause much trouble while she's healthy, but if anything else happens to stress her immune system it could explode into trouble. A vet can aspirate the lump to see if it is a cyst or open it up to clean it out. I had a verrucosus who got a weird recurring abscess of caseous material, old skin, oil and who knows what else in the skin on his gular area. It would create a large blackhead, but, once I knew what it was it was obvious and easily squeezed out.
