egg question

kandy Aug 04, 2005 12:05 PM

My girl layed 36 eggs on fathers day.
I hadn't planned on breeding her again until maybe next year.
I wanted her to have time to recover and stay healthy.
but
She almost looks like she is developing eggs again.
I have read some chameleons can store sperm.
Just wanted to see if anyone had had a chameleon do that, especially this soon after laying eggs.
(Are the egs normally fertile the second time around?)

I would also like to know how long most people wait after breeding to re-breed their lizards.

Thank you
K

Hi i'm a new owner with a question for you...i think that my cham is afemale but i'm not really sure how to tell. About a week or so after i got it it was digging around in the potting soil that i had in the temporary environment and i wasn't sure what to think. How old are they generally before they start laying eggs? I also read that the female does not have to com in contact with the male to produce and lay eggs. Is this true? and if so can these eggs be incubated into babies if they have not been fertilized? Thank you.
