5 week old

ridethesky900 Aug 10, 2005 11:10 AM

hello again i have another question my 5 week old baby chameleon just fell from about 3 feet up onto the carpeted ground. i heard their bones are very fragile, but he seems to be grasping onto things fine and walking alright. can they normally take falls that large? compared to their size that is

chameleons use falling as a means of escape. if running from a predator is working they drop to the ground. as long as they aren't landing on something really hard like tile or concrete they are normally fine.

ok thanks. i noticed one of his front legs shakes a little before he grabs onto things. maybe it was from the fall?
