A friend of mine gave me a couple of beautiful, lush potted English Ivy plants and a colorful Croton. I don't see either of them on my safe plant list, but wonder if anyone knows for certain if they may be safe or toxic. They would be good in my cham cages, but naturally I don't want to take any chances since all my chams regularly dine on live foliage.

no to the ivy and OK on the Croton. You may find varying info on the croton, but many of us use it with no problem. Ivy is a definite no-no

Thanks Lele for the info..I'm glad I asked before I assumed they (the English Ivy) were OK! Too bad they aren't good inside the cham cages...I already have a ton of ivy growing outside all over the house and various trees, dangit! The croton will be great, though. My chams eat hibiscus and ficus like it's their last meal!

Will, thanks for reminding me to wash thoroughly. I always wash and repot anything that my chams get. Heck, they demand more attention than human children need!

Agreed. For the last 3 months I have been setting up an enclosure. Next month, is when I finnaly get the chameleons.

Washing plants is something I have read that most people over look... Its just a plant right? Nope, its your chameloens life.
