Hey, y'all.

I rescued some tadpoles from a mud puddle in a shared driveway with no prejudice to what species they might be at the time. I have lived in this area for 2 years, and have rarely seen any frogs or toads during that time. This place is lousy with lizards- I'm not complaining about that part, mind you. So I collected about 2 or 3 dozen tadpoles, then started doing some research to try to figure out what species they are and how to care for them before releasing them. Well, now I have a dilemma. If they are what I think they are, then they are an invasive species and are supposed to be euthanized. That's not in me to do. But if I let them go, then they will further diminish the native population of frogs that are here. Take a look at the pics. These kids are about ready to leap off.

I have 2 red eyed tree frogs I've had for a little over a year and I noticed tonight that one of the frogs legs did not look right. He was in the water bowl and I nudged him out so I could get a better look. His legs were outstretched and it looked like his back feet were curled in. His stomach also looked a little red. A few weeks ago one of the frogs was having trouble moving around (I'm not sure which one), but he had seemed to be getting better. I'm not sure if it is a feeding issue since there are the two frogs. I just fed them. He looked interested in the food, but as of yet has attempted to eat any of the crickets. Any advice would be helpful. I'm worried about my frog.

Stavo facendo ragionevole bene in generale ma ho alcune cose (gli eventi/esame di guida sociali eccetera) arrivare che ho pensato che ho avuto bisogno di una mano di aiuto con. Quindi previdi a presa di questo durante circa 3 mesi e poi lentamente zoccolo da esso. Comunque, non mi sono reso conto che queste cose prendono un po' di tempo per morire e mi sento assolutamente terribile. Come....Veramente male.

La cosa più cattiva di tutti è quella che ho i miei amici il matrimonio domani e se sento questo male, e divento ansioso allora che semplicemente non sarò capace di andare ho comprato una nuova causa e la mia ragazza ha comprato una nuova attrezzatura pure, veramente non voglio lasciare chiunque giù/deludere chiunque. Su cima di questo, ho avuto gli ultimi 2 giorni liberi del lavoro perché sono stato così male ma il mio capo mi ha chiesto di entrare stasera perché lotta per personale. Sto per provarlo e aiutarlo in un momento di difficoltà, ma... Lavoro in un pub e tutti i tipi dal matrimonio saranno là stasera e se mi vedono lavorare e poi non arrivo domani potrebbero pensare che è un po' azzardato.

Se avrei saputo che queste cose prenderebbero così a lungo per lavorare e farmi sentirmi male così male nel frattempo avrei aspettato e avrei provato ad assistere al matrimonio con i miei betabloccanti soli. La parte della ragione ho voluto alcun meds è stata per questo matrimonio... Arghhhh..

Che sto per fare???

I live in the Yucatán jungle in Mexico and recently have had a very loud honking sound outside my bedroom window along with other frog and gecko sounds. But the honking one stands out as it is SO VERY LOUD and even keeps me up at night. It begins around 9-10pm and finally winds down about 2am.

I'm thinking it's a type of tree frog, but not sure. I'd like to ID it and read up on it.
I have recorded the sound of it but not sure I can upload it to my message here.

i have 2 whites tree frogs i got from the last repticon, both are healthy as far as i can tell but they dont move as much as i think they should. one sits in the water bowl all the time and the other sits in the same spot. the water bowl is big enough that they could both get in if they wanted to. i mist the cage at least once a day. there is eco earth as substrate. i've only seen them eat once or twice since i got them almost 3 weeks ago..do they have a hiberbnation period or something? it stays warm in my room.

i am setting up an enclosure for a red eyed tree frog. i am going to have live plants with a pond and hydroponic set up with gravel and moss. does anyone know some good plants that i could use the will respond well to tropical and hydro conditions?

I have been reading sites on these frogs but have gotten ideal day temps from 60's to 80's and not sure of best day and night temps.

My clowns are kept at mid 80s because they seemed to call the most and just thrived but think retf prefer it cooler?

i need advice on what to feed a red eyed tree frog. i dont want to deal with crickets, are dubia cockroachs ok to feed to them or should i use another insect? i would like to use something i can breed myself. i also need to know the best way to feed the frogs, use a dish or just drop them in. im useing a hydro type set up and not a water dish.

I'm in the process of setting up a 60 gallon hexagon aquarium as a tank for a colony of RETF. It is still in the intial stages of construction and I want the plants and everything to be a well functioning environment before I add frogs. They have some albino RETF and normals at my local herp store, but I saw a picture of the black morph of red eye, and fell in love. I'd love to find some to mix with the albinos and normals to start a breeding project in several months, does anyone know someone who breeds these black morphs?

My mossy frog (4 yrs old) has eaten crickets her whole life & now has developed cholesterol deposits, clouding her vision. The vet recommended switching food sources as crickets have been documented to have this effect on some species of tree frogs. It's been about 2 weeks, I've offered meal worms, super worms, baby nightcrawlers & butter worms with no luck. She won't even try for them, but will still snatch up crix. Any suggestions on getting her switched over?

I have had this particular whites since she was the size of a nickel. She has always been housed in a 30 gal terrarium. There are nice big branches and live plants. She has 2 other cage mates that have been with her from the beginning. Allare now full grown and 3 years old. They eat pinkies regularly and show no signs of any stress. 3 months ago this particular fem stopped eating and continues yo refuse food. I have tried crickets, pinkies, and worms of all kind. No sign of intrest. I have weighed her and she hasn't lost any weight. Her eye folds look healthy. She looks plump all over just like my others that are eating just fine. Her color remains a beautiful blue green. I am at a loss. Please any ideas would be great. I have raised and lowered temp and humidity, still nothing. She is the one on the right.

Got a young one from Petco. Will not eat and consistently hides in the cool part of the cage and does not come out. Do these go dormant in cool weather? Seems that this is what he is doing. Do they feed at night or day, or does it matter? He is plump and colorful, just acting like a brumating reptile.

I bought some of those bamboo tubes for my tree & mossy frogs to hide in. They are in very humid environments & are developing blue/green mold. I assume this can't be good for the frogs. Am I right? What can I do to prevent it? The frogs love them.

My son and I are preparing to venture into frog-keeping and he has chosen White's tree frog. The only local pet stores are Petsmart and Petco, and they are not stocking them. I'd rather avoid ordering online if I can help it. So I'm hoping to find someone locally (Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area) who has them available. Anyone?

I'm making a display out of a 4x2x2 glass tank and want to do a mixture of gray and green tree frogs and green anoles and was wondering what sort of population density I should go with for the frogs? It's going to be heavily planted...I was sort of hoping for 6-10 each of the gray and green trees, plus maybe 6-10 green anoles given the size of the tank. Does that sound excessive or viable?

There's going to be some land area, some water, with vines and plants going throughout and coconut husk attacked the back and two sides of the tank to increase useable area (and give plants something to grow on). The land area will probably be about a 2x1 section, then about a 8" section running the rest of the length of the tank along the back of it. I plan to have driftwood with planting in the water section, and I'm thinking of using vines running the length of it to give some climbing plants something to grow onto vertically and horizontally

I'm wanting to obtain a few treefrogs but I do not like the water stains on aquaria or waterproof cages . I was thinking of R.O. or D.I. water , like they use for tropical fish. Since this is safe for fish , I would assume it's safe for amphibians? I'm not sure if R.O. or D.I. will leave water stains as although R.O. water is pure , D.I. is the purest you can get. '

I have a green tree frog who was in perfect health and ate regularly, until i changed it's bedding. In about a week it became ill, and stoped eating. I moved it to a sterile environment and change its water everyday. I also keep it isolated and unbothered by poeple it's been in this sterile environment for about a week now and still hasn't eaten. It moves more now than it did when it first got sick but it's color is poor, it's toes are darkening, it's legs are darkening, and it is becoming slimmer as time goes on. If he gets worse I know he will die. Vet care is extremely expensive, and i don't know any who could care for small frogs anyway. So if any one could offer advise I would be most grateful. Help is needed as soon as possible. thanks
