				<description>

				  Pogona are a genus of lizards containing seven species, which are often known by the common name bearded dragons. Living in the arid, rocky, semi-desert regions and dry open woodlands throughout Australia, they are adept climbers, spending time on branches and in bushes, and often found on fence posts when living near human habitation. Pogona bask on rocks and exposed branches in the mornings and afternoons.

Several species of this genus, especially Pogona vitticeps, are often kept as pets or exhibited. A typical captive bearded dragon's diet consists mostly of leafy greens and vegetables, supplemented regularly with insects . Pogona have an average life span of 10-12 years, although some have been known to live longer.

 We just got a new 18 mo bearded dragon a last week. She came in a 40 gal breeder and we provided her with a sand mat, 75W halogen basking light and Reptisun 10.0 UVB CFL. The lights are in reflective domes next to each other.
The basking spot gets to 110-120 degrees. The cold side during the day...
