I think it really helps when people include details like the enclosure setup, temperatures, humidity, and feeding routine, since those can make a big difference. Hopefully you can get it sorted out soon, and I'd be interested to hear what ended up solving the issue.

I was in the hobby a couple years ago and had 14 snakes. Many from top breeders. But my career got crazy and now I have only one snake. As I look at the classified and many store websits I have to say why sooo expensive? A red bull snake or northern pine $ 250 and corn snakes for over $100. What happened?

Alvaro the conditions you describe are more than adequate for any number of snakes that could be considered "beginner" snakes and yes a ball python would do fine there. That said many of us up in the United States would trade places with you to be able to work with Paraguayan snake species. Is there something preventing you from doing that? Are there any law
Your caging requirements should be tuned to the snake you end up with

I’ve produced a new Columbian rainbow boa morph. I’ve been sort of out of the game for a number of years while I concentrated on my firefighting career but I kept working with this morph to prove it’s genetics.
I’m having difficulty loading images. I no longer have a website to copy URL images from. Can someone coach me how to load images and I’ll show off this beautiful new morph?

I recently got an African House snake that was being fed live pinkies. I don't have a reliable source for live pinkies, so we've always fed our other snakes frozen thawed. I have tried for the past 3 weeks to get the new snake to take a frozen thawed, but I'm having no luck. Does anyone have advice for this specific snake? All I can seem to find is ball python advice (I'm assuming the same tips should work), but was hoping to find someone with experience with African House Snakes. This is a juvenile, and I'm starting to worry about the lack of feeding. Thanks!

I know i posted this a while back.
And I am to blame as much as anyone.
I was in the hobby for over 11 years,,loved it. But had to get out because of my job. But when I cam back I see such a lack of interest anymore.
A few years ago the forums were full of postings(and arguments)everyday. The classifieds were full. The kingsnake classified were pages long. Now justone page.
What happened?
Even the stores have vanished.

I feel the same exact way. I stepped away from the hobby 9 years ago because I was having my first child and now that she's older and I'm slowly getting back in and introducing her to the hobby with me I'm finding that the forums here are dead compared to before. I used to enjoy jumping on here every day and reading/commenting on posts but i guess those days are over.

Hello,
I recently receive 2 milk snakes from some one who couldn't take care of them. I agreed to take them in and get them back up to health then find homes for them since I can not keep them myself due to my rental status. Male and female and was told they are hypo tangerine with vanish pattern but I'm not 100% sure. Female is around 4ft roughly and male is rather small 2ft maybe. Will have pictures posted once they look alittle better.
Just seeing if anyone out there would be interested. More concered about a decent home than money for them weither it be with a breeder or as a pet.

Hello,
I have a couple of t-14s and have always had success with keeping rat snakes off my housing by using bird netting at the base of the pole. somehow a three foot long rat snake got to my housing but got caught on the way down. thankfully the damage was not as bad as it could have been. he left 40 nestlings and 28 eggs alone. from what i can tell he only got one adult and one nestling and maybe a couple of eggs. i am rethinking my predator guards now and want to go with the big baffle attached below the housing like you see on all of andy troyer's t-14s. does anyone have pictures on how to build one and how to attach it underneath the t-14? i am pretty handy and have a shop where i can build just about anything. i have some ideas on how to do it but wanted to hear from those who have done a predator guard this way and have had success.

How does one go about catching a snake without actually having to be there doing the catching?My dad has this building, roughly 40x80 feet that he has all his crap in.(and a growing hunk of mine) It's out in the boonies, has 2 rollup garage doors, one regular door. One day dad says, hmm that looks like snake [bleep] as he pointed at some weird turd by one of the roll up doors. How he knows what snake [bleep] looks like I don't know(he's not exactly a herpetologist). Sometime later i'm moving some stuff around in the corner of the place and I make one of those spastic panic jumpbacks that can only occur when that 4 foot long stick laying there suddenly wiggles to life and crawls into the rusted out hole in the wall of the building. Sadly this was not to outside freedom, just into the wall insulation.A couple of months later dad did manage to kill a snake in the building but he said it wasn't as big as the one I described. I'm thinking surely it was the one, there couldn't be two snakes in the building, there's never been any before.So last week dad is out at the building doing something, and he looks down by one of the doors, and there is big ass snake again. He tried to pin it down but it got away when he went for something to catch it in.So today I had to go out there and get something and it took forever, I kept looking around thinking, crap what if the snake is here or there, or crawled up on this shelf or is in this box i'm moving to get to the one i need.So is there some kind of snake trap that can be deployed to capture this bad boy? Sure, I could do it the Visi way, get some piercings, bleach my skin and finish it off with some Jimmy Choo knee high leather boots, then tell some dufus i'm totally normal and love wabbits. Dufus gives me their pet rabbit, I skin it in front of them, then wear a rabbit mask while i place the rabbit carcas on a large bear trap as bait. There's also numerous jokes involving parking a commercial airliner with Samuel Jackson inside the building, but the doors simply are not big enough for that.So seriously hivemind, is there any way to catch this thing. Some kind of mousetrap for snakes. I'm neutral on killing it, dad didn't think it was poisonous, thinks its a gopher snake, and it has apparently taken care of the mice in the building so it deserves some positive karma. But if catching it involves death, oh well, it picked the wrong building to trespass in.
Any help will be apprecited.
