I just got my baby frilly home yesterday and he seemed to aclimate just fine, he was chilling on the highest branch near the light, he ate like a pig and basically acted like he did when I picked him out at East Bay Vivarium yesterday. This morning when I got up he was awake, on the cold end of the cage, lethargic and just staring off into space. I have heard of them "sulking", is this his problem?
I have pulled him out several times today and he just clings to me, I was able to warm him up under my shirt for a bit, once he got warm he started crawling around and ended up riding around on my shoulder for quite a while, when I put him back in his terrarium he clung to me and crawled up my arm, basically trying everything to stay with me. Now he is just sitting in one place, not really doing much, he is under the heat lamp, but he is on the ground, which to what I have seen is not normal. When I got him he was in a smaller terrarium with his brothers/sisters all piled on top of each other near the light.
I hate to go on, but I am trying to give detail. This is my first frilled, he is really young, about 3 1/2 - 4 inches from nose to tail, although I don't know how old exactly, I am guessing a month or so. I have 4 other young herps, they are all happy, healthy and acting as their husbandry sheets state they should. I really don't want an unhappy animal and will do anything, including go back to EBV and get him a companion if it will help.
Thanks for your feedback,
Jenee
