Mine cruised around the cage the night I got her. A month and a half has gone by and I haven't seen her leave the hide box on her own.

She's an adult Solomon Island Ground Boa, who is eating fine and appears healthy, although she is very shy and uneasy with handling. The cage temps are 72 on the cool end and 84 on the warm end, 70% humidity. The cage is in a dark, quiet area of my apartemtn. She will either hide in a cool or a warm hide. Though she seems to prefer the warm one.

I put a bunch of fake plants in to make her feel more comfortable, but she still won't come out.

She is in a sterilite plastic box with holes punched in the sides. The only thing I can think of is maybe the plasticy smell (its kind of strong) is frightening her.
