Two nights ago my husband came home with a little lizard which I believe is some type of anole though I am not certain. His friend's girlfriend thought it was dead so she put it in a plastic bag and left it in the COLD car. So my husband rescued it and when I got it I warmed him up with a heat lamp.

The lizard was breathing and opening his eyes but did not move.

The next day I soaked the lizard in some warm water and then let him sit under the heat lamp. He was able to move his head a little bit.

Today I soaked him again, and noticed as I was handling him he was moving his head much more and tried to move his front legs.

I dont know what is going on. I have never kept lizards. Maybe he is dehydrated or shedding or I have no clue. He does have a mark on his left hind leg which looks like an abrasion that has started healing so maybe he has an abcess?
He seems to be paralized. I can turn him on his back easily.

Any suggestions or should I just try to make his last days comfortable? And how would I do that for an anole? He is an anole right?

Thank you!
