Our male, who we've had for a week today, has been pretty brown since we got him. He eats well and everything, but was almost never green. His tail was half broken in the middle. The break seemed to go about 1/2-3/4 of the way through and it would bend at 90 degree angles when he'd weave through the plants. Last night it fell off and now he's green! Is it possible that the discomfort of having the broken but still attached tail was keeping him so brown? That's the only change and now he seems much happier! The tail was still changing color with him, so I assume that the last bits of tissue just broke off. Hopefully he'll be a much happier lizard now!
