I think that's pretty good for awhile. You turtle will outgrow the 5 gal. tank, though. A 20 gal. is more like it for an adult spotted turtle, and even that's kind of small. Also, I'd mix up the food a little more. Throw in some earthworms, waxworms, mealworms, etc. You can try commercial stuff, but Spotteds usually don't start eating those for quite some time, if at all. Also, chain pickerel are viscious little suckers with sharp teeth. A pickerel the same length of your turtle or close may accidentally, or even purposefully bite onto the turtles limbs, head, or tail. This could cause some serious wounds. I know, I have a scar on my thumb from a darn pickerel. They'll bite on some large stuff...I used to catch them on saltwater lures. Sometimes the lures were the same size as the fish I caught, no kidding .
