You asked us. We are telling you the truth, you don't have a painted turtle you have a wood turtle.
Look at his feet, they aren't webbed. Look at his shell it's domed compared to a painted. Look at his skin it's more rough than a painted.
Look at the size of the webbed back feet of my western painted, he looks nothing like your wood turtle:
