When you say "handle them" I hope you are refering to the act of "keeping them" and not actually handling them?

Finding a mentor is an excellant idea. Have you kept hots before?

Several things to be aware of BEFORE you aquire a gaboon.

Where is the nearest supply of antivenin?

Baby gaboons usually do not drink froma water bowl, so they need to be placed in a shallow container of water a couple times a week while they are juveniles.

Don't let their laid back demeanor fool you! They are very capable of doing a 180' spin to bite.

Good luck and put safety first.
