First off 2 months is not a long time when it comes to a WC lizard. Its posable this lizard just is not taking good to a captive enviroment. Is it posable for you to take a picture of it for us? I know its hard to accept but somtimes its best to release a WC lizard when it dose not fair well in captivity. What are its colors like? Have you noticed it darker than normal latly? In my oppinion there is no reptile that cant go some time with no care such as when you leave town. I am not blaming your friend of any wrong doing but as of late I have read in these forum a lot of help questions from people that left there pet in the care of a friend just to find out somthing is wrong with it now. Your Western Fence Lizard can go a week without food or fresh water when you leave town, Its not recomended but they can go with no water for that long. He may be hungery and thirsty when you get home but no worse for wear. . As I said a picture or maybe a more detailed discription will help us better andswer your question. But all in all in the end it may be better to give it back to the wild
