Phelsuma Standingi breeding question

I have a Male Standings day gecko about four years old and a female who is probably two or three. They've been together for about eight months now and the male doesn't seem to be interested in breeding. I intend to seperate them but I firgured I'd see if anyone had any other suggestions before I do so. So any ideas?
