We nurtured them to be pretty big..had them for about 4months they were both very active , grew to about 3-4 inches,, kept them in a 10 gal tank w/ spring water, filtered. They have been in the tank about 2months, changed about 1/2 the water and put a new filter about 2 weeks ago... 1st the slightly larger one died...found her stiff and floating on the bottom... later that day, the 2nd one died before our eyes after we took her out of the tank..it was strange... she stood with her legs straight out on th bottom like a scuba diver, turned greyish and a musous began to ooze off of her body?? Any ideas what could have happened?? I have 2 small tadpoles now about 2 weeks from becoming frogs... want to make sure problem doesen't recur... how should the tank be cleaned in case of disease???
