Well - it has been a week, and so far all ten eggs still look good. I guess about 7 more weeks to go ... (if I remember, and I might be wrong, it's about an 8 week incubation period)
Yesterday the ambient temperature got too warm (113F outside, 91F inside), heat wave and all. I draped a wet towel over the tank, and it seemed to cool it down some (evaporative cooling) but not as much as I would like. If today is like yesterday, I'll put a wet towel into the tank that has the eggs - that may be more effective than just draped over it. Fortunately our heat is pretty dry, so evaporative cooling works pretty well.
Of course the wet towel won't touch the incubation container, point is just to cool the ambient air around the container. Next year, my herp room is getting an air conditioner (probably set to 83F to save money). ----- 3.0 WC; 0.1 CB L. getula californiae 0.1 CB L. pyromelana pyromelana 0.1 WC; 10 eggs (7/11) Elgaria multicarinata multicarinata
