Hello, new here... was sent over by a friend who said I may find the answer to my query.

Recently we adopted two soft shelled turtles who needed a new home. We were told they are both approximately 10 years old. Previously they lived in a 55 gallon aquarium with one other soft shell (who was kept). Presently we have then in a 5' x 4' x 3' box lined with 40 mil EPDM pond liner (was a fish quarantine tank). We added some sand for burrowing and there's about 6 inches of water in there. Through in some water hyacinths for shade/cover and to encourage insects to visit.

Ok, so I have know idea what these two are. Being the type of person I am I have to know as much as I can about my pets so I'm able to care for the properly and keep them happy. Below are the links to photo's of these two. I don't believe they are the same species? The one with the spotted shell is smaller (6.5" shell) and the brown one seems the less shy of the two (shell is approx 9".
