>>I am going to incubate some cal king eggs with a basic Hova Bator, my question is do I fill up the bottom parts with water?? Or just spray the vermiculite down with water?? If so how often? Please help this will be my 1st time attempting this. Thanks a bunch.

Yes, fill the bottom with water. I use the same type, and fill both compartments with water about 3/8". I also cover trays with sran wrap, but don't let it touch the eggs, punch a few holes in the sran wrap. If the eggs start to collapse, spray vermiculite, but not the eggs. Set at 82 degrees.

Good Luck;
