My male giant day gecko escaped and in the recapture a large patch of skin was torn away from around his neck. I'm new to this species and had heard they have "soft" skin but I didn't realize how easily it can be torn. The affected area is literally down to raw flesh, there's no skin on it at all.
Question: Will the skin completely grow back?
It would also be helpful to know if anyone else has dealt w/this problem and how quickly/successful this type of injury heals.
Thanks for your attention.
