Wow, and I thought that gila eggs were big. You're going to need a huge incubator if you get a few more clutches like that! Do you use peat moss as a nesting medium? Do your beadeds usually lay on the surface? This year I had two clutches of gila eggs, one laid on the surface and only one egg is still good. The second clutch was laid a good 8 inches below the surface and they all look good. I know that a lot of monitor people believe that the key to getting viable clutches of eggs is in getting the nesting environment correct. Can you describe how you set up your female beadeds in anticipation of egg laying? Thanks for sharing, that female is gorgeous!
