You will need at least a 6'x 3' wide enclosure, preferably glass becasue of the substrate. THey are diggers ( some worse than others depending on the kind of sub-species). THey like a deep substrate preferably sand with a basking area of around 85° in the day time and night time temp around 70-75. They like to hide and so they will need shelter to feel secure. What I did for mine is took a 4" PVC pipe from a hardware store and spit it lenghtwise down the center, then I got some river rock ( which you can get from any landscape store, then I adhered the rock to the pipe with silicone ( without the mold inhibitor) and let it cure overnight attach some moss with the silicone and you've got a nontoxic hide away LET THE SILICONE SIT OVERNIGHT TO CURE BEFORE INTRODUCTION. All the data I found says that for a pair to mate you must have a 4-6 week period over the Dec. timeframe wher the day time is actually the same as the night time temp (70-75. then they will breed and hatch in early spring

Let em know if this helps. Did you get yours mail order or froma vendor . i am asking becasue I just bought my first off the internet and I am wondering how long it takes the trauma of travel to wear off, any advice ?
