Unfortunatly if it was an easy fix the vet would have told you this. Most vets are not going to risk you animals life with anesthesia unless absolutly neccisary. Vets are not out there just to take your money for no reason. Get the surgery. Imaction or inflamation is VERY life threatening and can lead to a slow and agonizing death.
