The eggs usually hatch in about 60 days. I'd recommend trying not to change the set up. Moving the eggs could harm the embryos and opening the container and putting it in a larger one would change the humidity levels. The babies are usually fine in the hatching container for a day or two. If this is still a problem, maybe you could get someone else to check them. I kind of forgot about my first clutch and left them inside when we were getting the house fumigated. When I remembered them, I was horrified. I had ten eggs incubating in one of those little butter containers. When I openned it, there were 10 little faces staring up at me so they had probably started hatching a couple of days before I checked them. Baby als take quite a while to go through their first shed. You should try to make sure that everyone is eating by the end of the first week. Once you feel confident that they are feeding, you can start looking for new homes.
